Snow Play

Sledding with Milo...and sledding with Zoey.

Milo did NOT dig the snow.  I had to carry his 30 lb butt around and the snow was almost hip deep in some places.  Very hard work!

Zoey's first snowman.

She kept saying she wanted to make "Scum Angels" because that's what they say in Finding Nemo.

Miscellaneous Pictures

Zoey the pastry chef...ugh, remind me later how messy this was and how sick we both felt from eating our weight in sugar cookies, sprinkles and brightly colored (aka staining) frosting.

Zoey kept coming to me saying she wanted to do ballet.  So I said, "OK".  She insisted, "Now, in my closet, I wanna do ballet."  I'm thinking, um OK, Zoey, whatever floats your boat...show me.  She found a tutu that I bought a long time ago for an audition...she simply HAD to wear it for several days straight.  And here I was hoping that she had a sudden interest in dance...maybe later.

Now we've got a tent shanty town that we can set up whenever the mood strikes.  I think I set them up so that I could get packed for the trip to Sedona.  So, what was I doing taking pictures instead of getting the work done?  Thanks GrandMa Cheryl for the LadyBug!

Who are these people?  All dressed up and out after bedtime?  Eating a meal with utensils and both hands?

Juuuuddeeee Where Are Youuuuu???

Well, we pretty much started the new year with a trip out to Sedona to see GrandPa Don and Judy.  The kids had a great time and, truth be told, if I could have gotten sleep and exercise while we were out there I'd have stayed a month!  Here's GrandPa and Zoey on the night watch for Javalina.  So ugly they're cute...and they visited us fairly regularly.

OK, this is mostly about Milo...I guess a video will make up for the fact that I don't have as many pictures of Milo for this post.  I don't remember why he started saying this but it became the norm during out visit to see GrandPa and Judy.  In my defense, I was not drunk when I asked him where the "HuddyBubs" were...that's just what he calls hummingbirds and it kinda got stuck in my brain.

More of GrandPa and Zoey.  I think on this occasion she was talking his ear off.

And another race

At the turn around for the 2nd loop on the 10K.  I think it really sucks to come to the finish and have to leave again for any reason...why can't they just make it a bigger loop?

The women of DHP...well, some of them anyway.  Meredith just finished IronMan Arizona and Rebecca is going pro as a Triathlete this year.  Of course they beat me in the 10K but I'm proud to say that I kept them in sight until the very end.

More Miscellaneous Pics

At a nearby park...a friend, Mark brought his Golden Doodle (or Labradoodle) to play ball with the kids.  Uh oh, Zoey had a really good time throwing the ball for Jasper.  Does this mean we will be getting a dog in the near future?  Please let them all be out of diapers before we have to train a dog!

Happy Birthday to Dadda...Zoey picked out the cake.  My hunch is that this one was chosen for the abundance of frosting.

Edward Scissor Hands has nothing on Milo Noodle Hands.

Striking a pose in a lovely cashmere vest from Grandpa Don and Judy, a gift they brought back from Russia.

Practicing punches and meditating over a chosen skill and moral value that they pull out of the treasure chest.  Very cute!

Backyard play and stuff...

"Hi, my name is Mama and I'll be your server today."

Visit with Gramma Cheryl

Mom flew out from Florida for a week.  We did lots of stuff but our visit to the farm was the only outing that I remembered to bring/use a camera.

The train is always a favorite and it was nice not to have to go on with the kids this time.   Zoey always loves the pony rides...Milo, not so much.

But there were plenty of other things for him to do.

Playing peek-a-boo on the wooden structures...exploring the muddy tire tunnel...or just hanging out with Gramma.

What I should have done was video the tantrum of the century when we had to leave.  It was NOT pretty to have Zoey throwing herself at my feet (trying to trip me) so I couldn't leave.  It wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't holding Milo.

Family Photoshoot

Race Updates...Lots of races

No pictures of my first Olympic Distance Duathlon but I got 2nd overall.

20K Time Trial...can't seem to do better than 2nd overall.

11K XTERRA Trail Race.  Going up.  Coming Down.

Waiting for results...and happy with the results.  Again a 2nd overall and 1st in my age group.

Running a race through DisneyLand.  It was only a 5K.  Next year the Half marathon.  No official results since it was just a "fun" run.

My racing buddy Allison.  She's got the "bug" now too.  I've convinced her to do the Sprint Distance Duathlon in November.  This weekend is another Time Trial  and next weekend is my last Tri of the season in Hermosa Beach.

October

DisneyLand...we had to go to pick up our race packets.  Only spent a few hours there.  Got on 4 rides.  Still waiting for more pictures from Allison but she said this one was so cute she had to email it to me right away.  I agree.

Wearing matching UW t-shirts.

Milo unwinding before bed on his own personal recliner...watching Elmo.

Zoey on our bed watching Bugs Bunny before bed.

Watching Zoey fly a kite today...

Zoey just started Karate.  This is her 3rd class.  She "earned" her white belt last week so this is the first class in uniform.  Vince says she's the youngest in the class.  I guess the other kids are over 4.  She really only has the attention span for about 15 minutes of class and then she just kind of checks out.  Sensei Trevor is like Kindergarten Cop.  She really seems to like it.
